Description
This is the movie that got me promoted to Creative Executive at Phoenix Pictures. I was on Brad Fischer's desk at the time. As an assistant you listen in on calls and take notes. Laeta Kalogridis had just turned in the script and Brad had sent it to and agent at WME who read off a list of available directors, ending with Martin Scorsese, since Wolf of Wall Street had fallen through (the first time around). When we hung up, I said to Brad are you kidding me he's giving you the chance to send it to Scorsese!! You gotta send it! And so we put together the letter. Then we heard back two days later that Marty had read the script and put it down after ten pages- because he didn't want to fall asleep reading it because he loved it so much, and we should hear back pretty soon. Then he was in, then Leo was in and the package all went out to the studios by the following Friday.
